Wonder Women
We are a huge advocate of supporting other independent businesses and so on International Women’s Day we thought we’d share a few of our favourite new discoveries who inspire us. Behind every wonder woman is a team of women (and men too!) who have their back – let’s keep empowering each other.
Sophie Kirkpatrick | Atlas & I
We’re big fans of Sophie’s wonderful personalised gifts, from a photo album printed with a vintage map of where you were married or went on your honeymoon, to a silhouette of walking your dog in the fields at home. Her personalised maps, across a range of prints, homeware and leather accessories, are just so unique.
Eliza Browne-Swinburne, Anna Kirkup and Claire McAlpine | Ibbi
We first came across Ibbi when they were next to us Spirit of Christmas. They add a chic injection of colour to block printed textiles, vintage kanthas, old Rajasthani embroideries, whimsical gifts and delicate hand-painted ceramics. You know we love to travel, and Ibbi is a collection of beautiful, practical, quirky homewares and found objects from around the world.
Jo Malone | Jo Loves
Jo Loves… A.K.A Miss Jo Malone herself. Jo Malone CBE has been described as an ‘English scent maverick’ and the woman responsible for creating some of the world’s most loved fragrances. If you haven’t already heard it, check out her Desert Island Discs podcast for some serious inspiration.
Sabrina Naggar and Emily Cohen | Sunuva
We know how much you like to go on holiday – just like we know you’ll like their stylish UV protective swimwear. A brand after our own heart, Sabrina and Emily are mums as well as businesswoman, and have built the brand from the ground up – it all started on a family holiday. The Auree boys rock their trunks.
Sophie Cranston | Libélula
Vibrant. Ultra flattering. Original. Timeless. Libélula’s silk shirts and dresses are loved by stylish women all over the world (one member of the Auree team has five of their shirts and never wears anything else). Like the Auree designs, their pieces are equally at home with jeans and some funky trainers, or all dressed up for your best friend’s wedding. Once you have discovered Libélula, you will be smitten forever.
Megan Tudball and Belinda Paul | Meg & Bee
So many times we have spied that ‘must have’ bag only to discover the cost of it would be the same as that of a small car! So, here they are, bang on trend bags you can customise and make your own without the frightening price tag, the calling card of good friends and business partners Meg & Bee. One bag two straps, two bags one strap, which will you choose?
Katie Lopes and Nicola Piercy | Stripe & Stare
Great knickers make us feel invincible but nothing is more miserable than hungry bum issues. Don’t worry Katie and Nicola have changed that with their range of sustainably sourced knickers and foundation wear that feel as good as they look (they’ve been voted the most comfortable in the world). Move over Bridget Jones, Stripes or Leopard print, which to choose?
Holly Anna Scarsella | Pampelone Clothing
Holly Anna Scarsella is the incredible founder of Pampelone clothing, bohemian yet sophisticated, it takes the warmth and glamour of the French Riviera as its inspiration. You no longer need to hop on a plane to the Cote D’Azur to achieve this look, but instead let them deliver it straight to your door.
Lucy Macnamara | Aspiga
Aspiga was born out of the founder, Lucy’s, love for travelling. She fell in love with the craftsmanship she discovered while on holiday in Kenya, feeling that this beautiful artistry needed to be shared with the world. We wholeheartedly agree.
Amelia Bainbridge | Auree Jewellery
And last but not least…it wouldn’t be right to not mention Auree and our wonderful Founder Amelia Bainbridge. Inspired by her highly spirited Grandmothers – one, a spirited and intrepid traveller, the other a phenomenal multi-tasker both took on life with an enthusiasm and energy that influenced her from an early age.
