It won’t surprise you to know that we are rather big fans of a good cocktail at Auree. And given it is the month for a party, we thought we might throw a few ideas your way. Whether it’s a party at home or just the chance to challenge the attractive barman to something a little different, here are some of our winter favourites.
The Charlotta Champagne Cocktail
Well, you didn’t think we were going to be anything but decadent did you? A favourite of Jamie Oliver, this cocktail is a rather dangerous combination of brandy, orange and champagne. Perfect to pep things up at the beginning of the evening.
INGREDIENTS: 6 small brown sugar cubes | Angostura bitters |120 ml brandy |1 large orange, optional | 750 ml Champagne or Prosecco.

Ok, so it could definitely do with a better name. However, for those of you who like a bit of winter sun, this is one for you. We also suggest that you get someone else to make it. Not least because all cocktails taste a lot better when someone else has done all the shaking. INGREDIENTS: Saffron | Fresh lime juice | Fresh passion fruit | Gomme syrup (quite, thats what we thought) | Orange Blossom Water | Bacardi.

Cider Rum Punch
If you fancy the ‘checked lumberjack shirt’, of cocktails, then this is the boy for you. Designed with the lazy afternoon in mind, this will send you off in style. We would recommend operating neither heavy machinery or your work email after a couple of these.
INGREDIENTS: Dark rum | Lemon juice | Thyme simple syrup (avoids a tooth pick emergency) | Cider | Club Soda | Angostura Bitters | Apple Slices.
